In the original icore proposal. for over 15 years we have been developing new parallel algorithms and tools to simplify the difficult task of writing a correct parallel application. while this research area is not artificial intelligence, it is considered "high performance." these activities have always hovered around 30 percent of the chair's research time. however, because we have successfully engaged the commercial games industry, have made a decision to scale back this research with the intent of ending it by the end of 2004. of interest is that the technology we built to develop parallel applications our co2p3s parallel programming environment ; is directly applicable to our artificial intelligence scripting project. co2p3s builds on the sequential ; software idea of design patterns exploiting commonly occurring software designs. co2p3s uses parallel design patterns. we have copied this technology for ai scripting. character behaviour also follows patterns. if one describes a character as a "guard" then that conveys a lot of information about that character's behaviour. the guard notion becomes a behavioural pattern that can be customized to give the specific behaviour that is desired. it is surprising at least to us ; that the technology we developed for parallel computing would be relevant in artificial intelligence.

All players are passengers within a carriage that is rushing to devil's castle. they each act as a member of a secret association, but no one knows who is friend and who is foe. each player starts in one of two secret associations. he also gets a secret profession with a special ability. so at the beginning of the game you have no information about the membership and the professions of the others. to win the game, each association has to collect 3 defined artifacts jointly. therefore you have to find out who your allies are and where to find the artifacts among the other secret objects that are in possession of other players. you can and play poker like or play poker games. And there's no way that anyone can smile as earnestly as they did all afternoon. it's endearing that they all smile and appear to have a good time while performing, but c'mon, no one is that happy! but i'm glad they played that song i like about the sun . ; and they had a really awesome music box player seriously, there are a lot of fuckin' people in this band! ; . the killers were next and they were killer! just kidding, they sucked. the killers are a hopelessly generic band that reminded me of an indie rock n metal group, either that or an eighties tribute band. and, for what it's worth, a lot of fat girls appear to like this band. i'm just saying. next stop, sonic youth. holy shit, dave, they played "kool thing"!!! i have never cared for sonic youth and a part of me really wanted to hate them, but you know what? they were awesome. aside from "kool thing, " their setlist was incredibly ballsy, relying mostly on brand new material and extended segments that were nothing but feedback. thurston appeared to have nothing but disdain for the crowd, calling us "dudes" every time he talked into the mic. i've said it before and i'll say it again: kim gordon is the hottest woman alive, even at her age. jesus christ, man, she was wearing this skimpy dress and you could totally see her black bra! and then she kept spinning around and you could totally see her little magenta-colored panties! that sight alone was worth the fifty bucks i paid to get in. the crush of the crowd was starting to get to me, so i opted to leave the front of the stage when my comrades had to take off after sonic youth's set. i can't even describe how claustrophobic and miserable it was in that sweaty drunken throng. i wandered off to find the stage that pleasure club were playing their second set on and after i found it, i bought a five dollar slice of cheese pizza and washed it down with a two dollar cup of lemonade. i walked back to the main stage area to catch a bit of the pixies' set. guys, does the jumbotron add ten pounds or has kim deal put on some weight? cos she looked like shit, your prototypical bull-dyke i'm sorry, but it's true ; . i watched about three-and-a-half songs of the pixies' set before i realized they were boring and that i was tired of watching the jumbotron. don't get me wrong: the pixies sounded great, probably better than they ever did in their prime, but they are boring as fuck to watch. they just stood there! i know they're old, but c'mon! the members of pleasure club are probably just as old, but they put on a fuckin' show! speaking of which, i left the pixies to go check out pleasure club again, who were playing their second set of the day on a nearby stage. when i got to the stage, i saw james hall talking to a couple of fans out on the lawn. i sat down and waited to get my ass kicked by their sonic assault. i don't need to tell you that they didn't disappoint on that account. hell, hall even sang a bit of juvenile's "slow motion" during a song! you can't beat that. again, i saw the singer for the polyphonic spree watching pleasure club from the side of the stage and i read today that thurston moore was there watching as well, but i didn't see him. with pleasure club's second set finished, i bought a hot dog along with another lemonade and waited for the live cds to be burned. a fucked-up hippie girl is there any other kind of hippie girl?! ; tried to give me drugs, but i politely declined. i ended up sitting through green day's insipid set while i waited. do i really need to tell you that green day sucked? i have always hated `em, but now i hate them even more after having had to sit through one of their shows. c'mon, they played "we are the champions, " for christ's sake! like anyone needed to hear that! and they had a keyboardist, another guitarist and even a horn section! why?! billie joe took a shot at sonic youth at some point, saying, "if you know three notes, you can be in sonic youth." yeah, this is the guy from green day talking! i stood behind some guy in a wheelchair for most of green day's set and was shocked to see him rise up from it during "time of your life" or whatever that is called; had the awesome power of green day cured this man's crippled body?! nah, he probably just stole the wheelchair from someone so he could sit his fat ass down during the concert. i got my live cds and split like a banana, boy. in closing, the next motherfucker who says, "i'm rick james, bitch" in my presence will be stabbed in the face with a heated curling iron. can't we find a new catchphrase already? here's a nice one: "good news! god is love!" as i suffered through green day's insufferable set, some guy walked by me wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the words "i'm rick james, bitch" on the front of it. a mere two minutes later, billie joe from green day said into the mic, "i'm rick james, bitch." i kid you not. this shit is getting out of hand and it needs to stop. now. say, "i'm rick james, bitch" just once more and i will make you my bitch. Seems like this just isn't the year for any athletic programs here at georgia southern. i don't even want to think about revisiting football season and both our men's and women's basketball teams are having a rough go of it southern c on fe play. not to worry though. as b a things might mike seem for our anthony hoops-playing my opinion eagles, college basketball o ers what its oddbouncing, oval shaped, gridiron counterpart does not. a secondchance. the silver lining lies in the conference tournament looming just up the road. since the southern conference allows all teams into its postseason tournament, dreams of seeing our eagles in the ncaa tournament will be alive and well at least until the rst week of march. just because we aren't doing so hot right now doesn't mean that all is lost. just two seasons ago, our lady eagles, seeded sixth in the conference, found their game at just the right moment, pulling two upsets and coming within two points of a trip to the big dance. all we need to do is our stride at the right time and we could nd ourselves caught up in the biggest spectacle in the sporting universe. although i'll take football over basketball any day of the week, there's no denying that when it comes to postseason play. ere is nothing in this world more exciting than the three hectic and unpredictable weeks known as march madness. it's really the perfect formula when you think about it. sure, you have duke, north carolina, kansas, and all of the usual suspects, but even better is getting acquainted with george mason, wichita st., bradley, and all of those other nonames that have crashed the big dance in recent years. one of the best parts of the tournament is how it can help a school build a program. simply making it into the 65 team eld does wonders for recruitment and can help nance a team that could be more successful if only it had a larger budget or more name recognition. a er last season's improbable run, george mason was so overwhelmed with interest that it immediately sold out this season's games and merchandise sales increased over 500 percent. en, of course, there's all the glory. what makes the tournament so good is that everyone who has earned their way into it has their shot for that one moment in the sun see: northwestern st. with a near impossible shot at the buzzer to beat iowa last year ; . what makes it even better is when that moment in the sun turns into a three week joyride to the final four like george mason did. maybe it's the sheer number of teams. maybe it's the overwhelming spirit and emotion that pours itself out into every game. maybe it's the fact that i can divert all of my academic e orts into trying to nd a way to win this year's bracket pool. whatever the reason is, there is something about march madness that never fails to captivate the entire nation. and who knows? maybe this year, gsu could catch re and be one of those lucky 65 teams slugging it out for the title. don't laugh. if history has taught us nothing else, it's that during march madness, anything can happen. anything, of course, except for me winning the bracket pool.
